Fruits at school: Something tasty and healthy

Since October 2009 students from classes 1, 2, and 3 have been munching on fruit and vegetables. As our school promotes healthy lifestyle, we have joined yet another programme, i.e. Fruit and Vegetable at School. The main aim of the programme is creating healthy consumption habits, as well as preventing obesity and civilisation diseases. The programme also includes accompanying measures, for instance giving out fresh fruit to the parents during parents’ meetings, and informing kids about proper diet.
The youngest students of our school get healthy snacks twice a week. The selection of fresh fruit and vegetables includes apples, pears, carrots, radishes, peppers and cucumbers. All pre-portioned and ready to eat. Healthy diet containing daily consumption of fruit and veg is a health on a plate!
Tasty munching!
